Hello. My name is Josh Hicks, and I’m a cartoonist and filmmaker based in South Wales.

I most recently directed the BAFTA Cymru-nominated animated short Spectre of the Bear, starring Bill Nighy & Craig Roberts. The film was written by Ioan Morris and produced by Nia Alavezos via CPE Productions, the small animation studio I run out of Cardiff, through funding by Ffilm Cymru Wales, BFI Network and BBC Wales Cymru. It is, largely, about crisps.

I also wrote and illustrated the comics Hotelitor: Luxury-Class Defense and Hospitality Unit and Glorious Wrestling Alliance: Ultimate Championship Edition, both published by Graphic Universe. In March, Dark Horse Comics will be putting out the first volume of my next book, Minecraft: Out Of Order. Tell your friends and their children.

There’s more stuff in the pipeline, but it’s currently secret.

If you want to chat, get in touch via josh@cpeproductions.co.uk. For enquiries about books and graphic novels and whatnot, I’m represented by Rachel Petty at the Blair Partnership.
